MUSICAL CHAIRS AT ABC

All this time we thought triple threat was impressive. Try quadruple threat. Eternally gorgeous and extremely accomplished entertainer Vanessa Williams, who can sing, dance, act and be crowned Miss America,(even though she had to return it – whatever,)  is the newest housewife to join the cast of ABC’s Desperate Housewives. Desperate no more after Ugly Betty got the axe, Vanessa now heads to California’s Wisteria Lane where we know she’s about to wreak major havoc.

BRAD PITT TO TACKLE “THE TIGER”

Super actor Brad Pitt and super director Darren Aronofsky, have been trying for sometime to work together and have finally put together a killer film, “The Tiger,” for Focus Features. The script being written by Guillermo Arriaga, who wrote Babel for Pitt, will be based on the soon to be Random House published nonfiction book by John Vaillant, Variety reports. Pitt’s Plan B productions and Aronofsky’s Protozoa Pictures will produce the adventure thriller, a true story of vengeance and survival, that takes place in Siberia where humans have invaded tigers’ habitat. This reminds me of when Pitt took on the grizzly bear at the end of his uber successful “Legends Of The Fall.”

THERE’S NO BUSINESS LIKE DOG BUSINESS

Howard Stern’s wife Beth Ostrosky Stern, an animal rights activist and dog lover, along with some experts wrote a book “Oh My Dog,” which gives tips on grooming, training, feeding and caring for man’s best friend. While promoting this new book today on Regis & Kelly, the endearing and funny Mrs. Stern was upstaged by one of her canine co-stars. The big yellow lab, who was supposed to just sit and look pretty, must have just had breakfast when in the middle of the segment began to relieve itself not once but twice to the fullest extent and to the horror and hysterics of the live studio audience. It looked like Regis was going to plotz not only from the embarrassment but from the smell. Beth, a total pro, continued her segment without a hitch. So did the dog.

HOUSEWIFE DESPERATE FOR GOOD PUBLICITY

Desperate Housewife Terry Hatcher, is launching a new inspirational lifestyle website aimed at women called gethatched.com – “A Chick’s Guide To Life,” reports the www.pagesix.com. The website will feature a “team of experts” who along with Hatcher, will chat about everything from her taste in music, questions about mommyhood and fashions inspired by her twelve year old daughter, Emerson Rose. Following in similiar footsteps of Gwyneth Paltow’s site Goop.com, these websites look to give a peek into the private lives of these celebrities while at the same time expanding their business brand way beyond that of  just an actress. Sounds like these celebrity moms are setting themselves up for a future career when they get tired of acting or g-d forbid we get tired of them acting.

“BLINDSIDED” BULLOCK MAKING BIG EASY MOVE

Academy Award winning actress and all around nice person Sandra Bullock, who unfortunatey got screwed over big time by her snake of a husband of five years, is said to be taking her newly adopted son Louis Bardot and setting up house in the city of his birth, Nawlins.’ E! Onine is reporting that a moving company based in Bullock’s hometown of Austin, Texas, was recently seen delivering furniture to her $2.25 million five-bedroom mansion in the Big Easy. In her recent interview with People Magazine, Bullock stated, “New Orleans is his city and he is going to know it inside and out.” Sounds like Sandra has had it with Los Angeles and all the chit-chat plaguing her and plans on building a home in Louisiana with her adorable son Louis Bardot.

A- ROD & CAMERON CHECK OUT HOTEL GRIFFOU

Every news outlet has picked up the New York Post story of Cameron Diaz and Alex Rodriguez dining with newly single Kate Winslet saturday night at hot spot Hotel Griffou here in the West Village. Guess what, I happened to be there too. Hotel Griffou is one of those places that skews coolness and ambiance and has a great vibe running throughout the restaurant. It’s elegant, underground and speakeasy-chic. It’s a cozy spot with much history going back to the writers and artists of the 1870’s who frequented the restaurant such as Mark Twain and Oscar Wilde. Duly, all the beautiful paintings that adorn each specialized dining room. Depending on your mood, you can dine in the The Salon, The Library or the newly popular Palm Terrace. Regardless of all the atmosphere, the owners, who hail from popular Waverly Inn and Freeman’s, focus mainly on the food and strive to give each visitor a grand experience. They have succeeded. Don’t walk, run. Whether you sit at a table or hang at the bar, it’s a win win. French trained Chef Jason Giordano, who studied under one of the best chefs on the planet Chef Jean George, offers an American/International menu which is sure to please the palate. P.S. Make sure you say hi to Bob, the dapper doorman who watches over the entrance.

KATE ON THE HUDSON

City Girl, Kate Hudson who has been seen all around town for weeks filming her new romantic comedy “Something Borrowed,” also found time to attend last nights annual Costume Institute Gala at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Kate and her pal Liv both posed with fashion champion Stella  McCartney and wore her gorgeous designes. Doubtful if Kate hit any after parties though, because she continued filming bright and early today on the east side. “Something Borrowed,” also starring Ginnifer Goodwin and John Krasinski, is the story of a Manhattan attorney who becomes involved with her best friend’s fiance.
