Julia Roberts and Dermot Mulroney are back together again on the small screen in Amazon’s new series, Homecoming, directed by Sam Esmail. The two who acted together in the campy 1997 My Best Friend’s Wedding and then 16 years later in August: Osage County, have reportedly been friends for years and never miss a beat.
The series is a psychological thriller starring Julia Roberts as a former caseworker who must relive her past when she’s questioned about why she left her job at a homecoming facility helping soldiers transition back to civilian life.
Along with Mulroney, other cast members at the premiere included Shea Whigham, and Stephan James.
Super-talented director Esmail writes and produces as well, with the series premiering November 2.
Other writers and producers at the West Hollywood premiere at the Regency Bruin Theater included Eli Horowitz, and Micah Blomoberg.
