Food Bank For New York City celebrated friends and vital community members at its annual Can Do Awards Dinner the other night. The star-studded annual gala is instrumental in raising funds and awareness to provide support for the 1.5 million New Yorkers who rely on Food Bank For New York City’s programs and services.

The organization is the city’s leading hunger-relief organization working to end food poverty throughout the five boroughs. Since its inception, the Can Do Awards have raised more than $18 million dollars, helping to provide 90 million free meals for New Yorkers in need, and every dollar donated to Food Bank provides five meals for New Yorkers in need.

This year’s event also commemorated the organization’s 35th anniversary with a special performance by New York natives and legendary hip-hop artists Salt-N-Pepa, who performed a medley of some of their greatest hits Whatta Man, Shoop and Push It. Following the official program, Bronx-native Kid Capri took over the sound system and kept guests on their feet at the Can Do After Party.

The evening’s Event Chairs were Scott R. Feldman and Jodisue Rosen with Honorary Chairs Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick.

Other notable attendees included:  Ted Allen, Kelsey Asbille, David Burtka, Casey Cott, Elvis Duran, Caitlin FitzGerald, Savannah Guthrie, Kristine Froseth, David Lauren, Lauren Bush Lauren, Chris Lowell, Debi Mazar and Gabriele Corcos, Marc Murphy, Alysia Reiner, Theodora Richards, Rosanna Scotto and others.
