Congresswoman Carolyn B. Maloney and Jean Shafiroff of the French Heritage Society joined French-Americans living in New York City in a candlelight vigil, rally and press conference at Vin Sur Vingt on Sunday. The restaurant was packed with a large group of people who came out to show their support.
The vigil was held in in memory of the victims of the recent attacks in Paris on Friday, November 13.
At the event, officials announced important information for families living or traveling in France and Congresswoman Maloney and Jean Shafiroff shared ways local residents can support charities and organizations providing assistance to those affected by the incident.
