Solange Knowles, Janelle Monae and David Schwimmer among others came out to the the 1st annual Africa’s Out! art benefit at Gladstone Gallery in Chelsea Friday night.
Global contemporary artist Wangechi Mutu hosted the event which she created to support the non-profit and celebrate and shout out for the rights and lives of the LGBT community.
It was presented by Ketel One Vodka, a continuing ally and supporter of the community, and Solange Knowles performed songs from her yet to be released new album.
Also there: Actor David Schwimmer‘s wife artist Zoe Buckman who participated in the exhibit, supermodel and mom Christy Turlington, musician Me’Shell Ndgeocello and MoMA Chief Curator Klaus Biesenbach.
