American author , poet, and longtime civil-rights activist Maya Angelou spoke about race relations last week at the Congregation B’nai Israel in Boca Raton, Florida.

The temple’s Rabbi Andrew Rosenkranz said the excitement over the 85 year old’s visit was “beyond what words can express.  She is, as they say in Hebrew, giving us kavod. She is bringing great honor to this community.”

Needless to say, all of the approximately 1,000 seats for the event had been sold out.
