Talk about causing a commotion.
People Magazine reported that Madonna and her daughter Lourdes toured University of Michigan‘s North Campus with a musical theater major and ate lunch at one of the residence halls. Her 17-year old daughter is said to be interested in the musical theatre program at the University, the institution the 55-year old briefly attended before heading to NYC to become a star.
‘Madonna tried to keep the attention on her daughter but … people were everywhere, ‘Lindsey Meekhof, a vocal performance senior, told People.
The icon made no secret of the fact she would like her eldest daughter to attend the university.
‘I want my daughter to go to school there,’ Madonna told the National Football League Network in an interview before her Super Bowl XLVI halftime performance in 2012. ‘I keep telling her, Ann Arbor is an awesome place.’
Madge tried to keep the focus on her daughter and stayed as low key as possible. Yeah, fat chance. It wasn’t long before news of their visit hit the campus.
‘There was a lot of excitement,’ added Meekhof. ‘Someone announced to my choir class Madonna was in the building, and choir wasn’t productive anymore after that.’
