Dressed up in her best boy scout outfit, Madonna presented Anderson Cooper with the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation’s Vito Russo Award, honoring openly gay media professionals who have made a difference in promoting equality.

The 54-year-old pop star took on bullying, homophobia and inequality in a speech that ran nearly 12 minutes before presenting Cooper with his award. “The reason I love you is you are a freedom fighter,” she told Cooper, before he came on stage for a kiss.

Not for the virgin ear.

Watch.
