The Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation (SWCRF) celebrated their 15th Annual Collaborating For A Cure Dinner and Auction at the landmark Park Avenue Armory last Thursday to an excited, packed and sold out house.

Attended by more than 950 corporate executives, board members, doctors, and then some all dressed to kill, the dinner, auction and concert benefit raised more than $4 million.

The cozy cocktail hour, always the best part was so crowded I had to fight my way to the mini-franks, shrimp cocktail and melt-in-your-mouth mini-burger bites.

Always a highlight event every year, the high-society crowd grabbed their auction paddles and big wallets and got ready to bid on exclusive items like a Black Lab puppy which after a bidding war fetched $8,000, and a luxurious five night stay aboard a Private Yacht complete with a private jet and seaplane for $125,000.

The evening’s music was a rock ‘n’ roll feast headlined by The Warren Haynes Band, featuring Peter Frampton and Gregg Allman.
