Pop icon Cyndi Lauper revealed she had an unfortunate and devastating loss in her family due to Hurricane Sandy.

The ‘Girls Just Wanna Have Fun’ singer also from Queens, lost her 90 year old Uncle George who made the painful choice not to evacuate and died in the Rockaways during Hurricane Sandy.

Cyndi had spent the last few days donating her time and money to relief efforts for other Sandy victims.

The Queens native spoke about this at a fundraiser and was also spotted spending some time at Frames Bowling Lounge discussing plans for her 2nd Annual “HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS” Concert benefiting her TRUE COLORS FUND, which raises money to eradicate gay and transgender youth homelessness.

Cyndi, in a silky black lace top looking adorable and youthful, her face rosy and her hair coiffed and blonde, relaxed along with friends in the Frames VIP Lounge happily posing for some photos while her friends ordered glasses of Riesling and rounds of Beer, and chatted about her upcoming concert taking place on Saturday, December 8th at New York City’s historic Beacon Theater.
