“Casting By,” a new documentary about casting directors screened at the New York Film Festival Friday night with an after party at The Empire Hotel.

Tom Donahue (pictured left) directed the film, which tracks the last half-century of Hollywood history from the perspective of casting directors like Marion Dougherty and Lynn Stalmaster with stories from stars like Glenn Close (pictured), Robert Duvall, Woody Allen and many more.

Dougherty gave Duvall and Close their first shot.

Also there was  Burt Young (pictured), who will always be known for his Oscar nominated role as Sly Stallone’s brother-in-law Paulie in the ‘Rocky’ series.
