FOX

Due to the major success of Fox’ ‘Modern Family’, the cast wants a raise, a big raise. The studio hastily canceled the scheduled table read due to the no show of the actors.

Variety is reporting that sources confirmed that 20th Century Fox executives on Tuesday canceled the table read scheduled for 11:30am about an hour before it was set to begin when they realized “there would be a lot of empty chairs.”

Filming on the first episode is supposed to begin Monday.

Word is that all the adult actors Julie Bowen. Ty Burrell, Tyler Ferguson, Eric Stonestreet and Sofia Vergara (who was spotted out in NYC Monday) are all sticking together with the most established TV thespian Ed O’Neill just joining the bunch, who started out at a higher salary than the others. Plus they have all just filed a lawsuit claiming their current contracts are in dispute with California Labor laws.

It is said that the five actors  earn about $60,000 per episode, with O’Neill drawing about $100,000. The studio’s most recent offer to the five was said to jump to the $150,000 range for season four.

Gosh, don’t tell most of America who would probably give a right arm for gelt like that.

Sofia Vergara is said to be the highest paid actress on TV but that comes from her Kmart clothing line and other ventures.
