Jenny McCarthy is back on TV. Great. We love her. Her new show, not so sure. The comic actress who went through a tough break-up with Jim Carrey years back, is also about to get naked for Playboy at 39 years old. “I kind of wanted to give it one more go before the puppies fall to the ground,” said the funny lady.

There was chatter over the last year that Jenny, a major autism advocate was getting some sort of talk-show on Oprah’s OWN Network but that soon fizzled. Instead, she’s the new host of the NBC’s 2nd season ‘Love in the Wild’ premiering Tuesday, June 5 from 9-11 p.m ET, and then moving to its regular spot at 10p.

And the Chicago native just announced she’s dating Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher.

The series returns in the tropical paradise of the Dominican Republic with wild adventures, cat fights and chock full of surprises happening while the crop of singles look for true love.

Jenny spoke to us reporters on the phone…Stand out questions and answers:

Did she have a chance to find romance during the shoot?  “I made out with somebody at the wrap party. Okay.”

What’s the wildest place Jenny ever mad whoopee? “I’m a traditional girl. If there’s not a bed there you’re probably not going to get any.”

How does Jenny think she would have done as a contestant on the show, and is she competitive at all when it comes to love and the dating game?

“I am an incredibly competitive athlete. Me and my sisters all had scholarships to college. Unfortunately, I took cheerleading. I think I would have done great in the adventures but it would have cost me finding a guy because I probably would have punched him in the face for doing something wrong on the adventure because I would have wanted to win. However, I would have gotten sidetracked and went oh wait I’m here to fall in love. So, the athletic girl probably would have ruined my chances so I probably wouldn’t have done well.”

Not one to slouch, Jenny’s got another book out soon “Bad Habits: Confessions of a Recovering Catholic.”

“It’s basically my coming of age story from the time I was six until now about the hilarious and sometimes horrific stories of being raised by nuns, and sins that have gone on along the way and questioning the rules. And it’s really insightful.”

What does Jenny watch on TV?

“’Whale Wars’, ‘National Geographic’ stuff, ‘History Channel’ and I am a ‘Jersey Shore’ watcher.  I just get a kick out of them.”

Who doesn’t. And some would just like to kick them. But not Jenny, we love her.
