The elegant Edison Ballroom on West 47th Street had a major treat last Friday night. The one night only legendary event brought back  band leader Joe Battaglia and his New York City big band to the stage for a night full of classic songs including ‘Making Whoopy,’ ‘The Hustle,’ and many more of our favorite standards.

The full 4-coursed dinner and dancing evening had couples hopping to the floor in between bites to strut their stuff as if to live out their ‘Dancing With The Stars’ fantasies.

From the moment you enter the beautiful and sexy room with perfect lighting you are instantly taken back to that golden era of the Quick Step and Waltz, when that’s what people did for entertainment.

Well mannered gentlemen and their ladies (of all ages) were dressed to the nines in dresses, suits and tuxes ready for an exciting and special evening of romance, delicious food, social interaction and tender moments.

Now that Tavern On the Green and The Rainbow Room have closed, we rarely get the opportunity to have a graceful and uplifting evening full of elegance and fun.

I even spotted Oscar nominated actor and entertaining crooner Danny Aiello enjoying the music with some friends.

Go dancing soon.
