Dolly Parton and Queen Latifah on the big screen together what could be better? Comedy and vocal magic, right? I mean, Dolly wowed us in the infamous classic ‘9 To 5’ while most things that the Queen does is great including my favorite, ‘Bringing Down the House’ with Steve Martin which still makes me giggle just thinking about it.
That being said I was surprised to hear that it wasn’t amazing. I missed the screening so I sent my colleague and his review was less than stellar. He basically just sounded disappointed that it wasn’t as great as it sounded. However, some say they laughed and cried throughout.
Warner Bros. describes it as “a funny and inspirational story of music, hope, love and renewal.”
