News just hit the airwaves that comedic actor Russell Brand and musical sensation Katy Perry are divorcing. No surprise on the Gossip Gal front.
I interviewed Russell briefly on the red carpet for his movie ‘The Tempest’ a bit over a year ago and Russell’s response to my question of how lucky he must be feeling to be marrying Katy Perry kind of lead me to believe this would be a short lived union.
I asked Russell if he was blown away by the fact that he was marrying the ultra amazing and exciting Katy Perry, but instead of raving and celebrating the fact that he was the luckiest man in the world (listening fellas?), the non-funnyman seemed taken aback that maybe he would not be the main star in the family and made a face that suggested perhaps that Miss Perry should be the lucky one, and simply replied, “Uh..Uh.. “I’m very happy.” Sure you are. And so’s that ego of yours. Ugh…
Whatever happened, this was surely not the way to start off an engagement.
