Golf, swimming, tennis, horseback riding, hiking and George Clooney.

Come January, George Clooney will be heading to laid back Palm Springs and I’m sure he will be bringing his new girlfriend Stacy Keibler with him when he is honored at its annual film festival. The star of “The Descendants” and “The Ides of March” director will be honored with the Palm Springs Film Festival’s Chairman’s Award,  on Jan. 7 at the Palm Springs Convention Center gala known for its glitz and glamour.

Michelle Williams will also be honored as well as Glenn Close.

The 23rd annual festival runs January 5-16, a period when Golden Globe and Oscar voters are still completing their ballots, making it a crucial stop during awards season for hopefuls in major categories. Foreign film Oscar submissions from numerous countries traditionally screen at the festival. Said festival chairman Harold Matzner, “A consummate actor, director, producer and screenwriter, he’s demonstrated that no discipline within the film industry is beyond his reach.”
