Mogul Jay-Z hosted a fund-raising carnival at the Hudson River Park’s Pier 54 for his Shawn Carter Foundation and brought along his mom Gloria.
About the event which sought to raise funds for college scholarships, Jay-Z said, “Just providing opportunity and seeing what people do with that opportunity. If you want to go further and you want to further your education, just giving someone that extra little push [so] that maybe you’ll turn out to be someone special.”
Others in attendance included music executives Andre Harrell and Kevin Liles, Yankee CC Sabbathia and wife Amber, and ex-Real Housewife of New Jersey Danielle Staub.
