America’s Got Talent the show that gives everyday talented people the chance to become a star just crowned Landau Eugene Murphy Jr. as winner 2011.

The smooth crooner talked a bit about his new Caesar’s Palace contract and just winning in general. “It’s been a crazy roller-coaster ride. My family was in the audience and it was an amazing moment. Waiting to hear the announcement was everything I wanted.’ I’d like to bring something new to the classic crooner genre. Show how big bands operate and give a fantastic show. ”I’m a cut out performer—the bigger the crowd the better I perform. I love a packed house.”

The former car washer with humble beginnings never had it easy and was even homeless at one time. “My mom left so from 21-25 years old I was all alone and I slept in cars and under bridges. My heartfelt thanks go out to my sisters who pushed me to come stay with them. I didn’t want to intrude but they got me to come.”

How did Landau feel about all the kids competing? I have kids, I love kids. I wanted all of them to succeed. It was hard to see them go home.”

What’s he going to do with the money? “It’s for my kid’s future. My kids are talented also. I want them to finish school and go off to college and pursue their dreams. Buy a big house for my family and of course give some to my wife.”

Right on I say. Now that’s a good husband.
