New York City’s own Chef Kelvin Fernandez at 25 years old is one of the youngest executive chef’s on the NYC fine dining scene and proud to say he recently came in 2nd place on Food network’s ‘CHOPPED.’

Harlem born Fernandez realized his culinary talent at 15 and eventually made his way to working under Michelin-star chef Georges Masraff at the Water’s Edge restaurant, and on to other NYC notables Aquavit, Town, Gotham Bar and Grill, and Café des Artistes.

Now at the Strand Bistro American Bistro Restaurant inside NYC’s stylish Strand Hotel in the heart of the fashion district, Chef Fernandez has “created a menu of traditional favorites infused with a menagerie of flavors.”  Think: Atlantic Salmon with sweet corn puree, baby vegetables, oyster mushrooms and chive emulsion, Moroccan Spiced Rack of Lamb with mint scented bean ragu and lamb reduction, and the Bistro Burger on brioche bun with onion rings and house cured pickles as just a few items that have become favorites among diners. I’m hungry.
