It’s not often that a whole roasted suckling pig will upstage a hip and chic NYC crowd but that’s exactly what happened when Todd English’s new pork influenced establishment CrossBar within fancy shopping emporium Limelight Marketplace had their opening party the other night. The VIP’s foodies and media all came out to his handsome two-story sexy space housed in the legendary Gothic revived brownstone to sample James Beard winner/Chef/Restaurateur English’s menu of snacks including Pigs in a Blanket, Tuna Confit, delish Lobster Guacamole, crispy Puffed Pig’s Ears and of course the juicy pork cut right from the star pig on the table, who was surely keeping an eye on everyone. The big list of bourbons and beers, and bottles of Prosecco helped wash it to all down while we made our way from one enchanting room to the next including the charming courtyard, and intimate lounge of smart red banquettes surrounded by handsome brick, wooden décor and cozy fireplace. Look for the alluring and mysterious upstairs with two high-def flat screens to be the go to spot for private parties. I could have sworn the pig winked at me. CrossBar is now open. Go.  www.ToddEnglish.com
