Julia Louis-Dreyfus will star in ‘VEEP’ set in Washington, D.C. as former senator Selina Meyer who becomes VP only to discover that the job is nothing like she expected but everything she was warned about. Characters rounding out the cast include her Assistant, Chief of Staff, and Director of Communications. “It is a true delight to work with HBO and show creator Armando Iannucci,” says Louis-Dreyfus. “I take the role of vice president very seriously, and although everyone says this is a comedy, I don’t think there is anything funny at all about me being a heartbeat away from the presidency.” Sounds funny already and reminds me a bit like ‘Spin City.’ Production begins in the fall and will air next year.
