Jim Belushi’s return to Broadway as Harry Brock in the revival of romantic comedy about sex and politics ‘Born Yesterday’ was personal. “I played Harry in college and it was such a big deal for me,” said Belushi, accompanied by his 30-year-old actor son, Robert, while at the Edison Ballroom after-party. “I did 40 plays and got all my roles from that. When I heard they were doing this, I called my agent.” Belushi, who’s committed to “Born” until the end of July is joined by a rival playing Robert Sean Leonard and Nina Arianda, the dizzy bubbly blond who’s in fight for their affection, and who by the way is rumored to steal the show. If Belushi’s CBS TV series gets picked for a second season he starts filming August 1. Celebs checking out opening night included Liza Minnelli, John Larroquette, Judith Light, Lily Rabe, Tyne Daly, Jay McInerney and Brooke Shields. www.bornyesterdayonbroadway.com
