Viacom owned TV Land, after success with hot commodity ‘Hot In Cleveland’ and Betty White, is gearing up for a new comedy slate in an attempt to gain some of the night time market share and go up against the network TV big boys. Fran Drescher’s ‘Happily Divorced,’ based loosely on her real life of living and working together with ex-husband Peter Marc Jacobsen who after 18 years of marriage comes out, and ‘The Exes,’ an ensemble about a group of divorced guys, have gotten the green light. Another original scripted show which bowed to low ratings but is being given a second chance ‘Retired At 35,’ starring comic legends George Segal and Jessica Walter, and Johnathan McClain, will take a go at it as well. ‘Martin’ and ‘Everybody Loves Chris’ alum Tichina Arnold, Rita Moreno and Robert Walden will co-star with Fran, while ‘Seinfeld’ alum Wayne Knight, ‘Scrubs’ Donald Faison and David Alan Basche will co-star on ‘The Exes.’
