New York’s Own Doug Ellin who created ‘HBO’s mega-popular ‘Entourage,’ is writing a half-hour pilot revolving around a group of male friends who help one another navigate life at 40, which isn’t all they expected it to be and writer, actor, director Ed Burns is set to star. In the vein of ‘Entourage,’ but with a slightly older group of guys facing personal and professional situations, the pilot tentatively titled ’40’ written and produced by Ellin, is set to start filming in the Fall in New York. Variety reported that ‘Entourage’ which has been on air since 2004, will end its eighth season run later this year. Ed Burns brother Brian Burns was a writer and producer on ‘Entourage’ and wrote the very popular ‘Yom Kippur Episode.’
