Chef and Restaurateur David Burke knows what he’s doing. After calling Manhattans Upper East Side home for some time with restaurants ‘Fishtail,’ ‘Townhouse,’ and ‘David Burke at Bloomingdale’s,’ Burke who recently made his way to midtown and brought his culinary craft to Stadium Grill Sports Bar and Restaurant inside new Bowlmar Lanes, has now made his way downtown. Just opened, new yummy hot spot ‘David Burke Kitchen’ on hip Grand Street in Soho beneath the James Hotel which houses cool rooftop bar Jimmy’s. The menu is interesting in that it offers American pleasure food served in a modern, unique and different way. Simply put, it was delicious. What did I eat you ask? The Pretzel Crab Cake and Crispy Potatoes with Horseradish. Oh yeah. The new restaurant doesn’t miss a beat with its friendly and knowledgeable staff, dapper decor, vibrant vibe and a renowned chef making table visits and everybody feeling right at home. David Burke came over to talk to us and made sure our food was delish. I hung out at the comfy and gorgeous bar and I definitely recommend you do the same. Next time, the staircase leading up to his one-of-a-kind glass-enclosed Treehouse Bar serving cocktails and pizzas and such will be seeing me. Go to www.davidburke.com and check out all of Burke’s spots including ones in Chicago, New Jersey and Connecticut.
