“I travel a lot and traveling back and forth from LA to NY, I feel the drastic temperature change and my hair gets dry so I put olive oil in it. Rosemary works well too. Give it a try.” That’s what Marcel Vigneron told me when I asked him about the rumors that he puts olive oil in his hair. Marcel  started cooking in high school then went on to the Culinary Institute of America and made his way to cook for culinary champions Michael Mina and Joel Robuchon before making a name for himself on Bravo’s ‘Top Chef’ and ‘Top Chef All Stars.’ I guess the fact that Marcel got himself a reputation as being cocky and arrogant didn’t hurt because he percolated himself a new cutting-edge molecular gastronomy cooking show ‘Marcel’s Quantum Kitchen’ coming to SyFy Channel Tuesday, March 22 at 10p ET. I asked Marcel who will be running his own catering and event company on the show if  science and cuisine preparation is the future of cooking and he said, “Who knows, no one really knows but its new ingredients, new plates, new dishes and I think outside the box. I’m pretty decent as what I do and I make sure I deliver.” Finally, there had been some talk about food porn and I asked him what that is.  “It’s not what you think it is. It refers to beautiful food shots.” Awe shucks I thought to myself, I think I like the other idea better.
