Larry the cable guy is living the American Dream. The stand up comic born Dan Whitney told me that he “grew up on a pig farm in Nebraska and now he performs in front of thousands of people” on a regular basic across the country. So what better gig for the cultural icon who rose to fame as a member of the ‘Blue Collar Comedy Tour’ along with Jeff Foxworthy and Bill Engvall, than to crisscross our amazing nation going totally off the beaten path to find all the people, places and things that define our country’s unique history and call it “Only in America with Larry the Cable Guy.” Larry said, “This is the greatest country in the world. I get to see everyday American culture and be myself in the greatest country ever, and I’m so proud.” Getting an out of the ordinary and hilariously fun history lesson from Larry as he participates in a civil war reenactment, crawfishes in Louisiana, heads to NASA in Houston, and visits NY’s own Central Park, are just a few of the unscripted and authentic adventures that this country lovin’ very cool, nice guy will bring with his new History TV series. ‘Only in America with Larry the Cable Guy’ premieres tonight on History at 9p ET.
