Aaron Sorkin whose script just got nominated for an Oscar in the best adapted screenplay category for “The Social Network,’ received a pilot order from HBO for his project about the backstage goings-on at a cable news network. Variety reported that it’s not sure if Sorkin, who won the Globe a few weeks back, will be working with his acclaimed longtime collaborator Thomas Schlamme, who is married to actress Christine Lahti. Sorkin, who is responsible for some of the best writing in Hollywood including ‘A Few Good Men,’ ‘The American President,’ and ‘The West Wing’ to just name a few, spent time with MSNBC host Keith Olbermann (who just got fired) in order to gather research for the new pilot.
