On the heels of the FCC approving the multi-billion dollar Comcast NBC-Universal merger where Comcast will control 51% and General Electric will retain the remaining 49%, news is starting to trickle down of the changing of the guards in all sectors of the company. The first to go as had been expected Jeff Zucker who held the reins for some time and thought to be next to the throne, signed off last year and will be out soon and be replaced by Comcast choice Steve Burke, who is no stranger to the entertainment biz. Burke, a Harvard Business school graduate with an MBA, hails from Dan Burke, the former President of Cap Cities/ABC before it was bought by Disney years ago. Now news broke last week that Angela Bromstead, President of Primetime Entertainment at the peacock decided to gracefully exit her position and MSNBC’s long time anchor Keith Olbermann is out as well. Besides all the heads that are and will be rolling, the word on street is that this deal in general, the merging of Comcast; the largest cable and internet provider, with NBC-Universal; one of the biggest names in media, broadcasting, cable TV and movies, will change the entire game.
