Last week’s Cinema Society screening at NYC’s School of Visual Arts Theatre in Chelsea brought out stars Mark Wahlberg, Amy Adams and Christian Bale, as well as Patricia Clarkson, Michael Moore, Gloria Steinem, Bruce Weber, Calvin Klein, Adam Levine and Russell Simmons (pictured). And it’s no wonder, the just released picture has gone through the roof with SAG and Globe nominations and is the true tale of Irish boxer Micky Ward and his struggle to become world lightweight champion. Christian Bale who plays his half-brother and trainer, got frighteningly skinny (as he did years back for ‘The Machinist’) and Amy Adams, who plays Ward’s girlfriend, were both nominated for a Globe and a SAG award and are supposed to be brilliant.
