Elf opened on Broadway Sunday night to standing ovations. Elf, the wonderfully warm and charming story of Buddy who was raised in the North Pole as an Elf, who turns out to be human and embarks on a quest to find his real family in NYC, stars Sebastian Arcelus (pictured) of Jersey Boys, Wicked, Good Vibrations and Rent. The Abe Hirschfeld Theatre rolled out the red carpet last night for all the stars, Broadway VIP’s and their children, including NY actor Judd Hirsch, a Tony winner himself who brought his youngest son London.  Gossip Girl’s Kelly Rutherford as well as Marvin Hamlisch, the great American composer who has more awards than could fit in Times Square, also came out and showed Elf some love. SNL’s hilarious Jason Sudeikis walked the media- filled red carpet and when he stopped to talk to Gossip Gal I asked him what he was working on and he told me besides SNL he has a new movie coming out in February called ‘Hall Pass,’ a Farrelly Brothers film and his first lead role alongside Owen Wilson. I also asked him if he was still dating ‘Mad Men’ actress January Jones and he said ‘I think so,’ if you hear anything let me know.’ Love Jason Sudeikis. The after party at the Grand Hyatt was a delicious winter wonderland buffet that rivaled any Park Ave Bar Mitzvah I’ve ever been to. Elf, the Broadway musical based on the New Line Cinema movie that put funny Will Farrell in that hilarious Elf suit, is only on a limited run for nine weeks so if you’re looking for something very New York to do in this very amazing city of New York, then go get tickets to Elf. It’s great. www.elfmusical.com
