In the 1987 original Wall Street,’ Gordon Gekko’s godlike character played by the divine Michael Douglas said, “Money never sleeps pal” a line that would go on and become a mantra for generations to come. The New York filmed movie shows NY’s gorgeous buildings in their best architectural state, reminding us still how NY is the greatest city in the world. Oliver Stone has also put together one of the best casts ever including Josh Brolin, who amazingly portrays a new kind of Gekko, Shia LaBeouf and Carey Mulligan who are gorgeous together on and off screen, and Susan Sarandon, Frank Langella and Eli Wallach who can’t steal the movie because the other characters already have. They are all fabulous. The original was great and this one is great too. Charlie Sheen’s ‘Bud Fox’ makes a cameo as well as NY’s PR movie maven Peggy Siegal is seen in all her glory. It opens today go see it.
