Brad Pitt and Sean Penn together? Thank you casting agents. Brad Pitt and Sean Penn’s movie “Tree of Life,” which was filmed a few years ago has been delayed once again for release. Directed by Terrence Malick who brought us the 1998 many time Oscar nominated ‘The Thin Red Line,’ sat on the troubled shelf of Apparition Films until recently when Fox Searchlight bought the drama and have planned for a 2011 release, according to Variety. The story centers on a son played by Penn (as an adult) and his complicated relationship with his father, Pitt during the 1950’s. Fox Searchlight’s presidents Stephen Gilula and Nancy Utley said in a statement, “Terrence Malick has crafted a deeply moving, keenly observed and magisterial film. Brad Pitt, Sean Penn and the entire cast’s performances are simply amazing. This is a signature film by a signature filmmaker and we are proud to be releasing it.”
