If you haven’t had a chance to see the legendary play Hair on Broadway, then you better run because it’s closing in a week. The play about a group of hippy friends celebrating life, love and freedom, rocks the audience and gets them totally involved during the almost three hour extravaganza. They also all get naked so don’t forget your glasses. I got the chance to hang backstage with the cast lead by 2006 American Idol star Ace Young, who is amazing in the show. Ace, who finished in seventh place in the mega popular reality show’s fifth season, told me he’s off to Los Angeles to start recording a rock album. Young is no stranger to the music game; he’s been singing since he’s nine and has opened for Brian McKnight and New Edition. He even helped pen the chorus for Daughtry’s infectious hit song ‘It’s Not Over.’ As much as the 29 year old told me he loved his stints on Broadway, (Grease before Hair) he’s psyched to be headed back to LA to see what tinsel town has to offer.
