A young couple’s upcoming wedding takes a turn for the worse when their respective father’s get into a feud. Great cast, not so great script. Cliche after cliche, Our Family wedding just isn’t very ceremonious. Ugly Betty’s America Ferrara is pretty good as the bride in one of her first major motion pictures Award winning actress Regina King, who plays Forest Whitaker’s girlfriend is totally under used as his sit by the sidelines gal pal waiting for him to see the light ignite between them. Forest Whitaker, who won an oscar for his portrayal of Idi Amin in The Last King of Scotland plays the grooms father played by newcomer Lance Gross. And Carlos Mencia, who has been around the comedy circuit for years, plays America’s father and steals whatever there is to steal of a movie.
The real action took place at Club Providence for the party on West 57th Street. Music was hoppin’ while guests feasted on mini burgers and mini lamb chops. Gorgeous Regina King posed for pictures and talked to everyone. Forest Whitaker looking impeccable and very tall and lean in a gorgeous suit acted like the star he is and surrounded himself with family, friends, cast members, business associates and well wishers. The Oscar winner did pose for pictures and soon after ran off into the night. Other celebrities hanging around included Anthony Anderson, Steve Guttenberg and model icon Beverly Johnson. Gretchen the blonde bombshell of Real Housewives of Orange County and her sexy, camera hungry boy toy Slade caught the movie but missed the after party.
