Newly minted Oscar winner Leonardo DiCaprio went to Paris, France on Earth Day to speak at the Paris Agreement on climate change at United Nations Headquarters.

No stranger to being passionate about the environment, DiCaprio founded the leonardodicaprio.org foundation back in 1998, with the mission of protecting the world’s last wild places.

Said DiCaprio, the U.N. Messenger of Peace and longtime environmental activist; “Our planet cannot be saved unless we leave fossil fuels in the ground, where they belong. An upheaval and massive change is required, now. One that leads to a new collective consciousness. A new collective evolution of the human race, inspired and enabled by a sense of urgency from all of you.”
