That’s singer-songwriter, newlywed, and new mom Jessie James Decker giving some insight on her down-to-earth relationship with New York Jets wide receiver (and hottie), Eric Decker to thenest.com

Here’s more of the interview:

On inspiring and supporting each other’s careers:

“I see Eric every single day, and he gives 100 percent every time, and it’s so inspiring and impressive, and he pushes me to want to work just as hard at what I do in my craft.”

Advice for newlyweds on the first year of marriage:

“We got pregnant 11 days after we got married! But I would say, just make sure you have date nights. Don’t get too comfortable every night when you’re watching TV, or you’re on your phones, and you’re ordering in. Make sure you go have your dinner, your wine, and you have your romantic nights alone together, because that’s really important.”

On typical date nights with Eric:

“I like to go out for some Italian, get dessert, and hear live music. Just a way for us to have some romance.”

On game day parties:

“Food is really important to me, so I definitely like to do something that’s like a jambalaya, so there’s enough food for everyone to get a bowl. There are good friends and lots of enthusiasm, because before a big game, I get really quiet, shy and nervous, because I’m concentrating … and I wonder how Eric’s going to do. I like having lots of friends around me, so it can lighten me up a little bit.”

On entertaining:

“I’m all about candles — I’ll light every candle in the house. I’ll make sure there are plenty of hors d’oeuvres and something like a pot roast … or a gumbo.”

“I love playing board games. Whenever we have people over, we definitely don’t want to make it too fancy. We make it comfortable, because we just want everyone to talk, interact and laugh.”

On her home décor style:

“A lot like Restoration Hardware. We like rustic mixed with trendy and chic. But I don’t like anything too gaudy, anything too flamboyant. I don’t like a lot of gold or anything too shiny. I like comfy, cozy and warm.”
