THE AMAZINGLY TALENTED Oscar and Grammy award-winning Jennifer Hudson discussed “JHud” over coffee at a Gilt City event sponsored by Gevalia where she shared her inspiration behind her third studio album, which just launched.

On the chic rooftop at the Gramercy Park Hotel guests of media and fans (my invite must have gotten lost in mail) got an up close and personal experience with Jennifer Hudson, and were among the first to hear the incredible vocalist’s new album, “JHUD,” featuring hit singles like “Dangerous” and “It’s Your World.”

The sold out event which donated all proceeds to The Julian D. King Foundation in honor of Hudson’s late nephew, which collects and distributes school supplies and Christmas presents for children of all backgrounds, was sponsored by the rich but never bitter premium coffee brand.

SCENE & HEARD INSIDE:

Hudson paid reverence to her deceased mother, brother and nephew, stating that she always finds the blessings in even life’s most challenging times.

Hudson told the room one of her favorite songs to sing off of the new album is “Dangerous” (a favorite of her son’s as well) and “Moan,” pays tribute to her mother’s advice to always see the positive all of life’s situations.

She looked chic in thigh-high leather boots and a mini skirt to show off her svelte body.

She even sang happy birthday to a few fans in the crowd and delighted her audience when she sang a few verses from one of her new songs off “JHud.”

She never leaves the home without her favorite red Mac lipstick and she’s happiest at home with her five year-old son, David, who recently started kindergarten.

Hudson titled the name of her new album off of a nickname her fans have given her over the years and she wanted this album to show who she really is.

LOVE JHud.
