One of the most respected voices in contemporary art and literature, BOMB celebrated its 32nd anniversary with a gala benefit dinner and auction of enticing contemporary artworks last Friday at Capitale in downtown NYC. The gala raised $550,000.

Somewhere after cocktails and canapés, dinner, and live-auction, the legendary alternative rocker and bassist for band Sonic Youth Kim Gordon, played for the top-notch crowd.

This year the annual benefit honored Trisha Brown, Beth Rudin DeWoody, Kyle DeWoody, Raymond Pettibon, and each was given a Pink BOMB by Tom Otterness, which was presented after a rousing toast to each honoree by Trustee Chairman Klaus Kertess, Adam Weinberg and Lawrence Weiner.

For the first time the benefit held a live auction as well as their well-known silent auction. The Live Auction’s auctioneer was Sotheby’s Gabriela Palmieri. The evening’s arts sales raised $200,000.
