It was as if New York Jets coach Rex Ryan had scene a ghost.

A few minutes after Sanchez blew his last pathetic chance at redemption by missing the snap against the Titans on Sunday, Coach Ryan in a state of disbelief, walked the field congratulated the opposite team and walked by Sanchez stone faced.

The coach who has stuck behind QB Mark Sanchez, lose after lose after lose, just couldn’t believe what he had just witnessed. It was so unreal that I even detected a sublte dizzy smirk from the coach who thought he’d seen it all.

Sunday’s game against the Titan’s was the Jets last chance to make it into the playoffs.

Sanchez, even though he was up to his usual antics of screwing up by throwing interceptions, throwing to no-one, or just plain getting sacked, still hung on and looked to be having some sort of chance at a win. However, given chance after chance after chance to have a come-back against the Titans who were falling short themselves, it still wasn’t to be for Sanchez, the QB who is just not a good QB. Period. Mark Sanchez right now is not a good quarterback.

The Jets season is now almost over with two games left and Ryan announced to the press that he told Sanchez changes need to be made and rookie Greg McElroy will be starting next game. Mark Sanchez is finally benched.

A little too late though Coach. Now the Jets fans dreams are benched too.

One question. What about Tebow?
