For a petite gal, Laura Warshauer has a big presence. That’s what I was thinking to myself as she was meeting and greeting people right before hitting the stage at her downtown gig at Rockwood Music Hall to a packed and cozy house.

The up-and-coming singer songwriter looked really comfy commanding the stage through her powerful vocals and bevy of intense folk and pop tunes.

Her catchy songs even lead her to dedicate and record a song for some old college friends of hers you may have heard of, The Prince of Wales and his bride Kate Middleton.  Yes, the New Jersey native was friendly with them in college not that you would know it from her down to earth demeanor. She met her classmates Will and Kate during her freshman year at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland, and inspired by her experiences, she came up with “To Will and Kate, Meet Me at Exit 109.”

Keep an eye out for Laura Warshauer, she’s on the move.

She even caught the ear of music man Jay-Z at a Grammy after-party who told her “You are fantastically talented.”
