Vanessa Minnillo is on cloud nine. Not only is she guest starring on this Thursday’s episode of NBC’s number one Emmy and Globe winning show ’30 Rock,’ but she’s also relishing in her engagement to singer/TV host Nick Lachey. When asked if she’s set a wedding date, “I’m in love. I’m happy and enjoying being engaged. Everyone rushes this step but I love being engaged and when it happens organically I will welcome it with open arms.” Vanessa, who won the 1998 ‘Miss Teen USA’ pageant and went on to do many hosting gigs and TV spots, has been working hard towards landing a major gig on a TV comedy and couldn’t be happier landing on ’30 Rock,’ “I was so nervous that I got myself sick over the audition. This is as good as it gets. This is a big deal for me but comedy is always what I wanted to do and I feel most comfortable in comedy.” Does her role leave room for a return visit? “Yes, and I would love to return.” Whose career does Vanessa admire? “I look at someone like Reese Witherspoon, who is a talented actress and ambassador for her causes and the same with Gwyneth Paltrow and they have children and it is possible to have it all.” Talking with Vanessa was a pleasure.
