Rumors are flying that Katie, whose contract with CBS expires in May, has been talking to the peacocks and may be discussing a return to the Today Show when Meredith leaves because she’s homesick. The Today Show, which is the same show Katie left so she could sleep late and become the Queen of evening news but didn’t. Apparently, she’s also talking to the big kahunas at Time Warner, home to CNN where she could also set up shop. Talk is also about how her ratings are still down at CBS and her salary would go down too if she renewed with good pal CBS boss Les Moonves. Whether Meredith leaves or not it sounds to me like sly Couric’s gone fishin’ and wants to see if she can get a nibble.
