Mike Nichols, who directed some of the most memorable and classic movies ever made, was honored by the American Film Institute last week and all the stars came out. Julia, Oprah, Warren, Cher, Meryl and Jack, (who famously showed up late after the Laker game) are some who came out to honor the Academy Award winning Director, who also has an Emmy, Grammy and a Tony. The Lifetime Achievement Award is given to honor someone for his lifetime contribution to enriching American culture through motion pictures and television. A few of his awesome movies include, The Graduate, Silkwood, Catch 22, Regarding Henry, Closer and Working Girl. Nichols attended the ceremony with his ABC news journalist wife, Diane Sawyer.
